During a woman’s life, she learns many skin secrets that work for her. Although skin care is a very personal thing, there are some general tips I’ve learned that have worked for me.
I’ve been asked by various clients about what I do and thought it well to share my tips for great skin here on my blog (which I have not utilised as much as I should have or could have in recent months.)
Great skin definitely starts on the inside.
You HAVE to drink enough water every day – especially in the cold, dry Winter months.
Even if you do not feel thirsty, your body needs hydration from the inside.
I also enjoy a diet high in healthy fats/ oils and I supplement daily with Solal Krill Oil (Omega 3).
A skin care routine is crucial. You can NEVER EVER skip washing your face at the end of a day. Your skin cells regenerate & renew while you sleep and you need a clean skin that can breathe freely whilst your body rests.
I currently use the Bioderma Sensibio range.
I love, love, LOVE everything French and I found that this mild range (for sensitive skins) is gentle on my skin, especially during the cold Winter months. The Sensibio H2O Make-up Removing Micelle Solution is my favorite pre-cleance/ eye make-up remover.
If I am really tired after a long day at work & with the kids, I use it to remove all make-up & product from my skin before going to bed.
As a moisturiser I like Eucerin Hyaloron Filler cream, which also acts as my primer before applying make-up. At times when I need extra moisture I apply a little bit of coconut oil to my skin before going to bed.
Twice a year I do Skin Gym at the LifeLAB Medical Centre in Lynnwood, Pretoria. This just happens to also be the address of InBloom Studio too 😉
They specialize in a series of aesthetic treatments including chemical peels, anti-wrinkle, volumizing & PDO treatments.
The cost of a Skin Gym treatment is roughly R 2250 and it includes your three products for home use during the duration of the treatment. Lycoderm lotion, prestabilised hydroquinone cream & modified Kligmans are what you will be using for roughly 10-12 weeks. The results of this specific treatment on myself & some of the clients I have referred are truly unbelievable!
I highly recommended it if you have moderate pigmentation like me and also to refine & renew your skin, as well as for treating fine lines.
The last step of my morning skin care regime is also the 1st step of my make-up.
